3rd September 2018 witnessed the launch of ‘Spread A Smile’. An initiative aimed at creating an ecosystem where children from various orphanages and schools in the city, can come together and engage in activities that aid their individual growth and collective development.
LOBA welcomes all members of the Loyola family to the 4th edition of the Global Leadership Awards, to be held on Saturday June 15, 2019 at the Sri Mulam Club hall from 6.30 pm. We will be honouring this year's winners - Sujith Varghese Thomas of 1993 and Sanjay Vijayakumar of 2000. As the first batch of students to pass out from school complete 50 years, we will also be felicitating the golden jubilee batch.
The chief guest for the evening is Air Marshal B Suresh, chief of the Southern Air Command.
A blood donation camp was organized at the Loyola School on 26th January 2019. This initiative was arranged by LOBA in association with Terumo Penpol's CSR wing. The collection was carried out by General Hospital, Trivandrum. LOBA President Dr. Ram Mohan kickstarted the event by donating blood. The event observed a very good and successful involvement from members as well as the general public.
LOBA is proud to introduce the winners of this year’s Global Leadership Awards. They were selected by a jury comprising of the Principal of Loyola School Fr Devassy Paul SJ, former chief secretary Dr K Jayakumar IAS and noted author Mrs Khyrunnisa.
The first meeting of the LOBA LINK(Loyola International Network) was held on December 21st, 2018 at the Central Residency Hotel. It was attended by 58 entrepreneurs and professionals. After the president, Ram Mohan, welcomed the members, Pradeep Suthan detailed the structure and plans for LINK.
During the subsequent open discussions, suggestions were made. Members also gave their experiences about how the network had aided them.
Alan Alexander 2004 batch Loyolite comes under the 30 under 30 list of Forbes India magazine. After his schooling and graduation Alan went to Paris study at Studio Bercot, where he spent the next three years learning fashion design. After training with some of the biggest designers, including Jean-Paul Gaultier, Azzedine Alaia and Rick Owens, Kaleekal returned to India in 2015, and launched his eponymous label
Group Captain Ranjit Panicker of 1992 batch was the test pilot for the successful test flight of the Saras aircraft. The National Aeronautics Laboratories (NAL)-developed Saras aircraft aircraft on Wednesday completed a successful first flight in its new avatar
Harish Haridas, 1998 batch Loyolite has been recognised for his contribution as a UK-India Young leader, a leader who could contribute significantly to enhancing UK-India ties and in particular in relation to his community and public engagement with the British South Indian Chamber of Commerce. The Young Leaders Forum was held recently at the De Vere, Latimer Estate in Buckingham shire alongside the 5th annual UK-India Leadership Conclave 2018.
1997 batch Loyolite Arun Sathyan along with Mahesh Raju formed an app based on Machine Learning named Hyreo. A chat-bot that tracks the status of an application, following which the Human Resources department can clearly communicate with candidates. Hyreo aimed at effectively leveraging technology to improve communication with talent, understand their proficiency in technical subjects and engineering fundamentals and improve overall recruitment performance.
1981 Batch Loyolite Rajesh Subramaniam has been appointed as the president and CEO of US-based multinational courier delivery company FedEx Express. He is currently the executive vice president chief marketing and communication officer of FedEx Corporation
